Parenthood

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous.  It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." ~ Elizabeth Stone

I had always planned on going back to work, but I never DREAMED it would be this hard.  I think this quote best captures what it truly feels like to be a parent.
Since Hudson was exclusively breastfed for 3 months, I wasn't huge on pumping (wish I would have been), and I was off work for 4 1/2 months and at home with him all day every day, to say I am attached is an understatement.  I'd barely spent any amount of time away from him in 4 months.
It is so true that you can't imagine how much you can love something or someone until you have a child.  You love your family and your spouse, but the love for a child is so different.
I thank God many times a day for this precious baby boy.

What did I ever do before he came along??  ; )

  1. Totally agree. It was so hard for me to come back to work after having Carter, but it got better. It's still no walk in the park, I'll be honest. It seem so unfair to only see your offspring a whopping 2 hours a day (that's about how much I see mine since I don't get home until 5:30 and he's usually in bed by 7:30). Luckily, he knows who I am and I can tell no one makes him happy like I do. So that makes it better. I hope it gets better for you!!
